Man Tried Breaking Into Farmingdale Home, Makes Threat: Police

The man, 21, threatened to kill everyone inside the home once he was confronted, police say.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A Farmingdale man was arrested in connection with an attempted burglary on the 4th of July, Nassau police said.

Anthony Ayala, 21, tried to enter an Elizabeth Street home without permission around 11:30 p.m. by pushing in a bedroom air conditioner after attempting to get in through other locked areas of the home, police said. When Ayala was confronted, he threatened to kill everyone inside the house, police said. The residents called the police, and Ayala was arrested without any further incident, police said.

Ayala was charged with third-degree attempted burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He is set to be arraigned in Mineola on Monday.
