Man Tries To Rob Farmingdale Ralph's Ices: Police
The woman behind the counter refused to give the robber money and chased him off, police say.

FARMINGDALE, NY — An Amityville man was arrested after he tried to rob Ralph's Italian Ices in Farmingdale on Thursday afternoon, Nassau police said.
Vincent Baxter, 21, approached a female employee, 53, at Ralph's Italian Ices at 850 Main St. and passed a note demanding money, police said. The woman refused and chased Baxter onto Frank Avenue, police said. Baxter broke off a flagpole on the storefront and faced the woman, police said. Baxter then dropped the flag and fled, police said.

Baxter was arrested by Suffolk police near Route 110 and Del Drive, police said.

Baxter was charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was scheduled for Friday arraignment in Mineola.
