New VP for Administration and Finance/CFO Appointed At Farmingdale State College

Gregory O'Connor has long professional and academic association with SUNY

Gregory O'Connor has been named Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Farmingdale State College. He joins the College with many years' experience in SUNY, having served in four different positions with the SUNY Research Foundation and, most recently, as Director of New Ventures.

O'Connor has had an affiliation with Farmingdale for some time, as Board Director of the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park. In his new role he will oversee the College's Finance area and key functions including Physical Plant Operations, Capital Planning, Human Resources, Information Technology, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Legal Affairs, and Environmental Health and Safety.

While at the SUNY Research Foundation, O’Connor was the principal contact for SUNY campuses seeking strategic direction and support for industry partnerships, real estate development, business incubation, and collaborative research partnerships. In addition, he negotiated and executed strategic technology license agreements with commercialization partners for SUNY-developed intellectual properties.

A two-time SUNY graduate, O'Connor earned his BA at Binghamton University and MBA at the University of Albany.
