Obituary: Fred G. Frouxides, Long-Time Farmingdale Resident, Dies at 84

Visitation: Monday, Feb. 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on 200 Great East Neck Road in West Babylon.
Service: Tuesday, Feb. 28 starting at 9 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on 200 Great East Neck Road in West Babylon.

Obituary: Fred G. Frouxides, a long-time Farmingdale resident, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23. He was 84.
He was born on January 20, 1933 in Stroumbi, Cyprus to the late George and Eugenia Joanou Frouxides.

Fred served in the US Army and was a Drill Sargent at West Point and Fort Knox. He was a retired restaurant owner of the Lido Diner in Farmingdale.
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his wife, Harriet Ann Frouxides, and brother, Haris Frouxides.
He is survived by his daughter, Eugenia Aletha Frouxides (Steven) Smither, Versailles, KY, son, George Fedros Frouxides, Farmingdale, his sisters, Evangelia Charalambous, Iliana (George) Kytrou, all of Cyprus, and his brothers, Spyros Frouxides, Cyprus, Mel (Nadia) Frouxides, of Farmingdale.
Fred is also survived by his grandchildren, Adrienne (Rob) Dye and S. Andrew Smither both of Versailles, KY, his great-granddaughter, Kiplynn Ann Dye, of Versailles, KY, his goddaughter, Melita (Greg) Calpakis of North Massapequa, his niece, Vivian Frouxides, Forest Hills, and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins in Greece, Cyprus, and the United States.
Interment will take place at the Calverton National Cemetery.
