PGA Championship Weeklong Travel Advisory
Commuters and community residents near Bethpage State Park are being asked to use different routes.
FARMINGDALE, NY--Traffic is about to be as abundant as golf balls in the areas near Bethpage State Park. The Professional Golfers Association of America and the New York State Police request that commuters and community residents in the area find and use alternative routes to and from their destinations during the week of May 13-19.
While the PGA Championship is in town, heavy amounts of traffic associated with the event are expected on the roads near Bethpage State Park.
The police issued instructions to members of the public who wish to attend:

- Drivers are to use the off-site public parking for the event, located at Jones Beach State Park.
- Anyone using ride-share options must use the UBER/Ride-share lot at the Newsday Facility located at 235 Pinelawn Road, Melville.
- The police encourage using the Long Island Railroad to the Village of Farmingdale Train Station (Ronkonkoma line) as an alternative means of transportation.
Complimentary shuttle bus service will be provided to and from the aforementioned locations, at the Main Spectator Entrance of Bethpage State Park.
