South Farmingdale WD Exceeds in Annual Drinking Water Report
South Farmingdale Water District meets and exceeds standards in Annual 2018 Drinking Water Quality Report.

South Farmingdale, NY; June 25, 2019 – The South Farmingdale Water District (SFWD) has released its 2018 Drinking Water Quality Report, and is proud to announce that the District's water meets and exceeds all local, state and federal standards, requirements and criteria.
The report is required to be made public, in compliance with federal and state regulations. Compiled by a local engineering firm and a local laboratory service, in conjunction with Nassau County Department of Health, this in-depth report contains valuable information regarding District water quality, treatment, sources, conservation measures, cost and water quality statistics.
In a statement from the Board of Water Commissioners, “South Farmingdale Water District's continuing goal is to provide our customers with quality, dependable drinking water each and every day. We’re happy to announce that there are no violations of any drinking water standards. We encourage our consumers to request a copy of the report and share it with others.” The Board also added, "Our staff of water professionals follow strict procedures which contain quality control safeguards, including aggressive water sampling which is conducted weekly."

SFWD tests for over 300 compounds, including all new and emerging contaminants. What this means to consumers is that the water that flows from the tap goes through the most rigorous testing in the industry.
