Support Group Launched For Long Island Coronavirus Survivors

The support group sessions will take place as Zoom meetings for the present and will be led by professionals.

Press release from Paragon Management: Paragon Management, with facilities in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Westchester counties, has launched a Post COVID-19 Support Group that will offer emotional and psychological assistance to those people who have survived the coronavirus. The support group sessions will take place as Zoom meetings for the present and will be led by professionals on staff at the Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Centers, including a psychologist, and Lisa Penziner RN the special projects manager. Paragon Management includes Emerge Nursing & Rehabilitation, Excel at Woodbury for Rehabilitation & Nursing and Lynbrook Restorative Therapy & Nursing.

“As we see more people who have recovered from the coronavirus, we know that many of them continue to have lingering health issues and in some cases, they show signs of post-traumatic stress syndrome,” said Penziner. “A support group provides people with an opportunity to be with others who are likely to understand what they are going through. This can reduce feelings of loneliness, distress, depression, anxiety and fatigue.”

The Post COVID-19 Support Groups will take place on June 11 at 2 p.m. and June 16 at 6 p.m. To receive the Zoom invite information to participate, please email lisa.penziner@paragonmanagementsnf.com or call 516-457-5585.
