Town Of Oyster Bay Warming Center Open This Week

With the temperature dropping below freezing this week, the center will available to residents starting on Tuesday.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - With temperatures plunging this week, Oyster Bay town officials announced that a warming center will be open for residents starting on Tuesday.

The center, located at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center on 1001 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 30.

In addition, residents in need of emergency housing can call the Nassau County Winter Homeless Hotline, which is open and operates seven days a week through March 31, at 1-866-WARMBED.

Employees from the Department of Social Services (DSS) will also make appropriate referrals and provide shelter placement and can be reached at (516) 227-8519.
