WATCH: LI Man Discharged From St. Joseph Hospital After 44 Days
The 43-year-old coronavirus survivor spent 38 days on a ventilator. He's a husband and a father to a son.

BETHPAGE, NY — Danny Wong, 43, of Hicksville, was discharged from St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage Wednesday, the hospital announced. Wong, who had the coronavirus, spent nearly a month-and-a-half in the hospital. A majority of that time was spent on a ventilator.
Wong came to Catholic Health Services' St. Joseph Hospital's Emergency Department on March 22 after having a fever, cough and shortness of breath for three days. Over the next 24 hours, his breathing got worse and he was placed on a ventilator. He was intubated for 38 days.
On his 44th day at the hospital, Wong was cleared to be discharged to a rehabilitation facility so he can regain his strength and eventually return home to his wife and son. Front-line staff at St. Joseph Hospital lined the halls and cheered Wong on as he left.
