SCOPE Honors Four From Fire Island

Congratulations to Karen McNulty​, Dawn Lippert​, Tara Heslin​ and Vernon Henriksen​!

Four members of the Fire Island School District were recently honored during SCOPE Education Services' 16th annual School District Awards Dinner.

Among the award recipients included veteran teacher Karen McNulty, veteran paraprofessional Dawn Lippert, veteran Woodhull PTA member and past president Tara Heslin, and current Fire Island Board of Education vice president Vernon Henriksen.

McNulty received the Teacher Service Award, Lippert received the Support Service Award, Heslin received the Community Service Award, and Henriksen received the Board Service Award.

Between the four award recipients, they have worked a combined 80 years at the Fire Island School District, working concurrently for over 14 years.

SCOPE Education Services is a Board of Regents chartered organization that has provided services to Long Island schools since 1964.

The SCOPE awards dinner is an annual event honoring members of school districts across Long Island who have been selected by their respective superintendents for recognition.
