Flynn's Fire Island On The Market For The First Time In 82 Years
The local hotspot has been owned and operated by the same family for five generations.

FIRE ISLAND, NY - An iconic Fire Island restaurant is officially on the market for the first time since it opened in 1937. Flynn's Fire Island, located on 1 Cayuga Street in Ocean Bay Park, has been owned and operated by the Flynn family for five generations.
The real estate firm, Cushman & Wakefield, which has been entrusted with the sale of the popular 176,000-square-foot eatery and marina site, announced the news on Thursday. The restaurant has been a hotspot for years, attracting huge crowds in the summer.

"I have put my heart and soul into Flynn’s for close to 50 years now and I feel fortunate that the past five decades have been as profitable as they have," owner Tim Flynn said. "I am now able to explore my other passions and am confident that Cushman & Wakefield will find a new owner who is just as excited to continue the Flynn family legacy."

Co-owner and Tim's cousin, Mike Flynn, said that while he will miss the restaurant, he is excited to spend time with his family in Colorado.
"If you would have told the Flynn’s five generations ago that this restaurant would grow into what it is today, I don’t think they would have believed you," he said.
An asking price for the property has not yet been set.
