Mary Lee The Great White Shark Headed Toward Fire Island
"Where can I get a Rocket Fuel around here?" the 16-foot, 3,456-pound shark has probably asked.

Mary Lee has taken a liking to Long Island the past few days.
The famous 16-foot, 3,400-pound great white shark has been lurking off the Long Island coast since Wednesday and she's now headed toward Fire Island.
Mary Lee, who has more than 96,000 followers on Twitter, last "pinged" at 12:44 p.m. Saturday about a half-dozen miles south of Moriches Inlet, according to OCEARCH, a nonprofit organization dedicated to shark research that tracks Mary Lee and about 100 other sharks around the world.

Mary Lee has been heading southwest over the past couple of days. On Thursday night, she came as close to the Long Island shore as she's ever been: just a couple miles off East Hampton.

She came within a few miles of Fire Island in May 2015, but she just spent a day in the region before heading back south.
Mary Lee has traveled more than 34,000 miles since she was first tagged off Cape Cod in September 2012, according to OCEARCH.
