Northwell Health Opens Third Clinic On Fire Island For Summer

FIRE ISLAND, NY – Fire Island visitors will have another option for urgent medical care this summer. Northwell Health is opening a third immediate care center in Saltaire, joining ones in Cherry Grove and Ocean Beach.

The new Saltaire location will be at 100 Bay Promenade and open through Labor Day weekend.

The three clinics can treat minor injuries, administer first aid and treat allergic reactions, insect bites and other summer emergencies. The clinics will be staffed Monday through Thursday and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and then 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday hours are only 4 to 6 p.m.

Serious emergencies on Fire Island will still require a 911 call. COVID-19 testing will not be available at the three clinics.

If someone requires treatment outside of those hours or a higher level of care, patients should call 911. And anyone who needs to remove their mask to get a diagnosis will be referred to GoHealth or Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, according to a Northwell spokesperson.

The Ocean Beach location is at 504 Bayberry Walk and the Cherry Grove location is at 153 Doctors Walk.
