Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray presented an official Town of Hempstead Certificate of Recognition
on April 25 to three Five Towns residents for their years of service with VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) at a luncheon event for all VITA volunteers.
IRS representatives and Hempstead Town’s Department of Senior Enrichment train VITA volunteers to help prepare income tax returns for senior residents, free of charge.

- Burt Kahn, of Hewlett, for his 27 years of service with VITA
- Beatrice Rothenberg, of Cedarhurst
- Virginia Wong, of Woodmere, for her two years of service with VITA
