Best Buy to Close Long Island Store

The Best Buy in Lawrence will be closing this fall, and will likely result in many layoffs in the area.

According to Newsday, the electronics chain filed with a state regulatory commission and did not renew its lease on the store, which is located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike. Closing the store could result in 60 layoffs.

Newsday reported that the store will close by Nov. 12. The company will help the employees find positions in other stores. Those who don't will receive a severance package.
