1. Jerry Barmash has a story on a couple arrested in Franklin Square for having multiple unregistered guns in a pickup truck along with six grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Anthony Cinelli, 26, of Miller Place, and Marina Rubio, 26, of Farmingdale, also possessed material to build a gun, according to police. (Patch)

Matthew Ferremi looks at some long-time Hewlett High School employees who are retiring this year: science teacher Ilene Gabel, music teacher Eric Williams, English teacher Patricia Curran, chair of business Rose Panarelli, director of music and arts Walter Lastowski, and teacher’s aide Leslie Turner. 3. Jeff Bessen reports on a MS-13 gang member who pled guilty on Wednesday for the December 2018 murder of two men in Far Rockaway and Lawrence. Elmer Gutierrez, 21, from Valley Stream, is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy. He will be sentenced in August. (LI Herald)
4. News 12 has the story on a boy who was hit by a car while riding his bike on the East Rockaway Junior Senior High School campus. He was air lifted to Cohen Children's Medical Center. (News 12)
5. Tom Carrozza looks at the closing of St. Raymond School in East Rockaway this year. The Diocese of Rockville Centre announced in March that the Catholic school would close, along with St. Thomas the Apostle School in West Hempstead. (LI Herald)

- Newsday lists three restaurants to try this weekend and Grandpa Tony’s at 101 Althouse Ave., East Rockaway is one. The eatery gets the must-try designation for the specialty pies, meatball bomb, and chicken wings. (Newsday)
- Lawrence school district will continue its Kosher meal distribution program. To be eligible a child must be 1-18 years and live in Nassau County, but it is not based on financial need.
