Cedarhurst Resident Promoted to Professor at Farmingdale State College

Dr. Hanna Horowitz, a Cedarhurst resident, has been promoted to full professor in the dental hygiene department at Farmingdale State College.

Dr. Horowitz joined the dental hygiene faculty in 1992, and currently teaches courses such as Dental and Oral Anatomy, Pain Management, and Oral History and Embryology. Previously she taught at New York City College of Technology (CUNY) (Now New York City Technical College). She also practiced general dentistry on children and adolescents at the New York City Department of Health, in Brooklyn.

Dr. Horowitz earned a DDS at New York University College of Dentistry; a BA in Chemistry at Brooklyn College, where she graduated Cum Laude; and a Teachers Certificate at Jerusalem College for Women (Israel).

Dr. Horowitz also publishes in professional journals, including Decisions in Dentistry and Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. She is co-author of Dental and Oral Anatomy Workbook, a laboratory/lecture manual (Linus Publications, 2013).
