Citizen Helps Nassau Officers Nab Babysitter Who Was Driving Drunk With 4 Children: Police
Charges include driving drunk and endangering children.

A concerned citizen used her car Thursday afternoon to block a drunk 19-year-old babysitter from driving away from Cedar Beach with four children in her car and held here there until officers arrived and arrested the intoxicated woman, according to Nassau County Police.
The citizen called police at about 2 p.m. after she noticed the babysitter unable to locate her vehicle in the parking lot of Cedar Beach on Harbor Beach Road in Mount Sinai, police said in a news release.
The woman, Sabrina Macri, had four boys, ages ranging from 4- to 11-years-old, in her care, police said, adding that she tried to drive away in her black 2015 Honda Civic once she located the car. That's when the citizen took action.

Macri, 19, of Sound Beach, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; With a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Four Counts Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two Counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, police said.
She was jailed and was to be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct until arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday (July 1), police said.
