Cops: Man Electrocuted While Hanging Flag for Block Party
The incident happened Saturday afternoon in E. Atlantic Beach, police said.

A man is in serious but stable condition after being electrocuted Saturday by electrical wires as he tried to hang an American flag, according to Nassau County Police.
At 12:50 p.m., the 27-year-old victim threw a weighted plastic bottle and rope over electrical wires in an attempt to raise the flag for a block party on Buffalo Avenue, cops said.
To get the bottle and rope down, the victim climbed to a second story porch and, using a metal skylight/awning pole, contacted the wire, cops said. He was immediately electrocuted and went into cardiac arrest before falling from the porch ledge, police said.
