Firefighters Knock Out Tanker Fire at Peninsula and Mill

The Hewlett Fire Department on Saturday put out a truck fire at the intersection of  Mill Road and Peninsula Boulevard.

When the chief arrived, he confirmed that this was a fully involved tanker and the fire was in the engine compartment with the fire extending to the fuel tank lines.

There were no injuries reported and all units were up after one hour.
