FIVE TOWNS, NY — July Fourth events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Five Towns.

However, the Town of Hempstead is still having a fireworks display, just not on the holiday.
On June 27, the town will be hosting a concert, followed by a fireworks display, at the Town Park in Point Lookout, located at 1300 Lido Blvd. The concert, featuring local Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot, will start at 7:30 p.m.

To keep attendees safe, the concert will be drive-in only. Cars will be able to park and watch the concert, which will be projected onto screens. After the concert, the fireworks will begin.
