Good morning, Five Towns! Let's get you started on this Tuesday with everything you need to know going on today. Read about a graduation party in Long Beach that ended with arrests. Find out what Hempstead Town is planning to help residents cool off during this heat wave. And only one local fireworks show is happening this Fourth of July weekend.

  1. Jerry Barmash tell us that the Town of Hempstead is extending hours at pools and beaches to battle the heat this week. Starting today, Town of Hempstead pools will be open for an extra hour until 8 p.m. Lifeguards at town beaches, including Town Park Point Lookout, Lido Beach Town Park, Lido West Town Park, and Hewlett Point Park Bay Beach, will stay an extra hour, until to 7 p.m. There will also be cooling centers open until Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. (Patch)
  2. Jerry Barmash also reports on a graduation party in Long Beach that ended in gunshots. More than 2,000 high school graduates from Baldwin High School, Freeport High School, Hempstead High School, and Valley Stream High School and New York City attended the so-called "sunset party," police said. Deandre Oates, 18, of Hempstead, was taken into custody on second- and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm and another 18-year-old Tyreek Williams, of Hempstead, was charged with having an active arrest warrant.   3. ABC 7 has the roundup of local fireworks this weekend: Jones Beach will have a show on July 4 at 9:30 p.m. A show at Tobay Beach will happen on August 3 at 7 p.m. (ABC 7)
  4. Newsday lists the best lobster rolls on Long Island and Lazy Lobster in East Rockaway makes the cut. At 10 Front St., on the water, the food truck serves generous portions of lobster meat on buns with different flavorings. (Newsday)
