1. Jerry Barmash reports that a woman was injured in a jet ski incident Friday night. The 28-year-old woman is in critical but stable condition after suffering a skull injury and a broken leg. She was ejected from the jet ski near Seaman's Creek Bridge, according to police. (Patch)

2. News 12 Long Island has the story on State Senator Todd Kaminsky being nominated by Nassau Democrats for county District Attorney. Kaminsky is a former assistant DA and prosecutor. Republicans called him "too extreme." (News 12)
3. Jessica M. Semins has the details on a new zoning change in the Village of Valley Stream and what it might mean for upcoming development. On June 21, the board passed a resolution allowing family townhouses, apartments, condos and cooperatives in parking districts. Another change will allow for construction of an apartment building on the southeast corner of South Corona Avenue and West Jamaica Avenue. (LI Herald)
4. John Asbury explains the Nassau County Comptroller's recommendation that the Atlantic Beach bridge, between Atlantic Beach and Lawrence/ Far Rockaway, should move to cashless billing. An audit released this week looked at the $6.5 million toll collection and cash operations of the bridge. (Newsday)
5. Julia Elbaba profiles Rachel Arbitman, a Hewlett High School student who is one of the finalists of the 2021 Newsday Marcus A. Henry Award. The award is given to a Long Island student who excels in the classroom, athletics, and leadership. Arbitman received the first ever Distinguished Athlete Award, created in her honor. The graduate was the first female tennis player to win four county titles, three singles, and one doubles. She won 2018 state singles and 2019 state doubles titles. She also volunteers with several organizations and held a 99.820 GPA. (Newsday)

- Nassau County Legislator Bill Gaylor speaks out against a bill in the State Assembly and Senate that would increase the tax on gasoline and products used to heat homes. The Climate and Community Investment Act would increase the gasoline tax by 55 cents per gallon bringing the total tax on gasoline in New York to be 98 cents. (LI Herald)
- Sunday is unofficial open house day. There are a bunch of open houses in the Five Towns today. Check out 22 Steven Dr. in Hewlett from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The four-bedoom, three-bathroom split is listed for $739,888.
