Kiwanis Cares Fundraiser

Valley Stream Kiwanis Teams Up with John's Crazy Socks for a Fun Fundraising Program

Kiwanis Club of Valley Stream has teamed up with John’s Crazy Socks for a fun fundraiser. Under this program, supporters of Kiwanis of VS, that make a purchase at John’s Crazy Socks, will receive a free gift and Kiwanis receives 10 percent of those sales.
“We are so excited. This campaign is new and different and we think our supporters will love it,” said Tina Castelluzzo, the Secretary of Kiwanis of Valley Stream. “This is a fun, easy and safe way for people to support our mission. People can get great socks and face masks while supporting Kiwanis.”
Tina said, “We chose John’s Crazy Socks not only because this fundraising program will be so good for us, but we LOVE their mission to spread happiness. Our supporters will love their socks and masks and we like the fact that they donate 5 percent of their profits to the Special Olympics.”
John’s Crazy Socks was co-founded by John Cronin and his father, Mark. John is not only an entrepreneur, but he also has Down syndrome and more than half their employees have a differing ability. This family business has grown into an international phenomenon offering more fun socks than any other store in the world.
John Cronin, Co-founder and Chief Happiness Officer said, “We have a mission to spread happiness and we are so happy to support Kiwanis Club of Valley Stream.“
How the Kiwanis Cares Fundraising Program Works
There are 3 easy steps:

  • We are asking our supporters to make a purchase at John’s Crazy Socks using the Charity Code FG-KIWANIS21
  • Each customer using that code will receive a free gift with their order.
  • Kiwanis of VS receives 10 percent of net sales from those orders.

About John’s Crazy Socks
John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise built on four pillars:
● Inspiration and Hope: Over half our employees have a differing ability and we want the world to see what our colleagues can do. We create videos, host school tours and speak to groups around the U.S.
● Giving Back: We donate 5 percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics and raise money through our Sock of the Month Club and charity and awareness socks for our charity partners like Autism Speaks, the Autism Society of America, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Williams Syndrome Association. We have raised more than $360,000 for our charity partners and publish a monthly Giving Back Report.
● Socks You Can Love: We have over 2,000 different socks plus a Sock of the Month Club, gift boxes and gift bags. And our selection is matched by our customer service: Most customers receive their socks within two days of ordering.
● Making It Personal: Every package gets a thank-you note from John and some candy.
