A man died in Long Beach while swimming without lifeguards. Beach volleyball has been cancelled because players didn't listen to parking instructions. The public had a chance to submit their input on a proposed offshore wind project, and a free Tuesday night concert series starts next week in Cedarhurst.

  1. Jerry Barmash reports on a man who died Tuesday night swimming in Long Beach when lifeguards were not on duty. The Long Beach Fire Department gave the 30-year-old victim from Brooklyn oxygen but he did not survive. (Patch)
  2. Public hearings for the proposed Empire Wind Project off Long Beach were held virtually yesterday evening. The project developer, Equinor, has two contracts with the state to provide over 2,000 megawatts of offshore wind power from the turbine field and plans to construct up to 174 wind turbines off Long Island by 2027. (Patch)
  3. Jeff Bessen has the scoop on Cedarhurst Village's summer Tuesday concerts. The first one will be on July 6, featuring a military veteran-inspired act, the American Bombshells. The music starts at 8 p.m. in Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park, and at 7 p.m. a kids show called Magic by Ben Cohen goes on. The Tuesday concerts are free, with a Thursday rain date. (LI Herald)
