1. Priscila Korb has the rundown on Long Island spray parks to hit with the kids this summer. Bay Park at 198 First Avenue, East Rockaway, has a new playground with a spray pool. Grant Park is at 1625 Broadway in Hewlett and has a spray area for children. North Woodmere Park with a spray zone is atb 750 Hungry Harbor Road, North Woodmere. (Patch)

2. Nicole Alcindor talks to Valley Stream Mayor Ed Fare about appearing on “Teen Talk,” a show hosted by a 16-year-old Seaford resident Ashley Blum. The teen hosts the show to connect with others and inspire. (LI Herald)

3. Jessica Semins gives the details on Valley Stream's Memorial Day ceremony that will again replace the annual parade due to COVID-19. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the village Veterans Memorial, Hicks St. and Valley Stream Blvd. (LI Herald)

4. Jessica Semins also has the story on a volunteer force that patrols Valley Stream Village. The "Valley Stream Civilian Patrol” is an unofficial collection of residents who drive around making sure nothing that needs to be reported to police is happening in and around the village. (LI Herald)

5. Jeff Bessen profiles local residents who were appointed to the board of United Hatzalah, an organization that provides emergency "ambucycles" to Israel. David and Tammy Friedman of Woodsburgh and Iris and Shalom Maidenbaum, of Lawrence, joined the international board of directors.   • The Valley Stream Community Center holds yoga classes at Hendrickson Park, Sundays from 9 to 10 a.m. throughout the summer. (LI Herald)
  • FOX61/CW20 today announced Nkwa Asonye, Jr. will cover news and sports stories across Connecticut and will serve as a sports anchor on FOX61 newscasts. Asonye previously worked as a basketball coach at Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, NY. (Fox61)
  • Rumor has it Mexican restaurant Ay! Caramba and Bagelo are moving into the Peninsula Shopping Center at 1336 Peninsula Blvd. in Hewlett. (Facebook)
  • A Valley Steam South high school junior took top honors at The Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington's art competition, "Long Island's Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher Museum." Keren Dial won first place out of almost 300 submissions from 56 schools. (Newsday)
  • Cedarhurst and Lawrence will host a Memorial Day parade and service on Sunday, at 10 am (no rain date) in Andrew J. Parise Park, Cedarhurst. (Village of Cedarhurst)
