1. Matthew Ferremi reports that an overpass on the Nassau Expressway on Seigert Blvd. may soon be named after Pete Sobol, the late Inwood resident who was active in Inwood and Five Towns community service. A bill to christen the overpass the Peter V. Sobol Memorial Bridge passed the state senate and needs Gov. Cuomo's approval. (LI Herald)
2. Jeff Bessen has the scoop on Inwood's Juneteenth celebration this Saturday. From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Inwood Park there will be barbecue, spoken words, dancing, basketball games, and face painting to commemorate the longstanding holiday that is now seeing wider recognition. (LI Herald)

3. Michael R. Ebert tells us about a Valley Stream high schooler who won a national contest to create a public service announcement about an environmental issue. Tia Walker, who is a senior at Valley Stream South High School, won the top prize for New York State. She made a video about the harmful effects of relying on carbon dioxide. (Newsday)
4. Abby Weiss, Tina Moore, and Tamar Lapin remember a Queens fire, 20 years ago, on Father's Day that killed three New York City firefighters. Their widows, Mary Fahey of East Rockaway, Denise Ford, and Ann Downing, gathered yesterday to remember the day and their subsequent bond. (NY Post)
5. Alessia Grunberger has an update on Barry Rosner, the CFO of Great Neck condiment company Old Dutch Mustard, who was arraigned last week on charges of grand larceny and falsifying records. Rosner, who lives in East Rockaway, faces up to 15 years in prison. (Patch)
