Number One Player in New York State Commits to Division One

One soccer. Davidson College is renowned for its academics(ranked #25 in nation in college rankings
by Forbes magazine) as well as athletics (Steph Curry). Jamie worked hard to earn his 4.0 weighted
GPA,while participating in sports inside and outside of school, clubs, community service, and most
recently Unified basketball.
“Jamie kicked a soccer ball before he could even walk”,quips Jamie's Dad. He started officially
playing at age 3 with Hewlett Lawrence Soccer Club. His energy and passion for the game were

Jamie began playing with the elite BW Gottsche soccer club at age 6 and was already ranked as a
top 100 recruit in the nation by age 13 on a variety of websites, working his way up to Gottsche
captain of the elite top 25 academy team. Coach Tommy Flood, who has known Jamie since he started
with Gottschee, commented“I have never in all my years of coaching witnessed such a strong minded,
hard working, never die attitude than I witnessed from Jamie this year..he was a warrior...I’ve coached
Jamie for almost 10 years and this year, despite the poor team record, was by far the most proud I have
even been of him...we won Super Y national titles, all the major youth tourneys when they were
younger, fantastic regular seasons in Academy and this year goes above his whole youth career because
of his attitude and leadership when things were not going well.He showed so much character this year
it was an absolute honor to coach him. End to end,box to box, determined and willing to do whatever it
took in a game that meant nothing but pride for him.Jamie’s a winner and trust me he will surprise
many at the D1 level”.
Jamie trained in England with AFC Wimbledon’s Youth Academy and played in matches against
Fulham,Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth.During his time there he also trained with players from
Arsenal,Chelsea, and Tottenham. Jamie was offered trials by elite English Academies at Newcastle and
Middlesborough, but decided to return to school in the U.S.instead.

Being granted Academy permission to play one year of high school soccer, Lawrence coach
Patrick Leary provided support, encouragement, and guidance for Jamie to excel and win All
Conference honors as a sophomore. Coach Leary states “Jamie is first and foremost a great kid who
also is a tremendous athlete.I have watched him participate in many sports(I coached him on the
Unified basketball team) and he is naturally good at everything. His focus on soccer made him an elite
player. He combines a technical expertise with his athleticism and unparalleled work ethic...all the
ingredients of a super player with a bright future”.
The past two summers Jamie played for a New York Maccabi side in soccer ,leading his team to a
gold medal last year in the national competition.
In his senior year,Jamie chose the further challenge of playing three sports simultaneously. While
practicing 4 nights a week for Gottschee, he played varsity tennis and ran varsity track for Lawrence
High School. Jamie lost only one tennis match all season, playing first singles multiple times. He was
awarded All Conference as a tennis player, following in his older brothers' footsteps.Coach Rhonda
Barsel was a driving force behind Jamie's success.Coach Barsel states “Jamie has a complete tennis
game. His speed, athleticism, and determination as a singles and doubles player earned him all
conference and all division this season for Lawrence High School”. Jamie ran the mile, two mile and 4
x 8 relay in the same meets. Coach McQuillan suggested Jamie focus on the two mile as the season
went on,leading Jamie to his personal record of 10.19 ,and winning the All Division Track Award.
Lawrence High School has always provided a great platform for Jamie to succeed academically and
athletically to achieve his goal of playing Division One soccer.
Concluding Jamie's pre-college career, he was selected as one of the twenty athletes in the country
to represent the USA in soccer at the upcoming Maccabi international games in Israel. He is most proud
of this accomplishment and is eager for this incredible opportunity.
During the college recruiting process, more than 25 schools such as Yale,Harvard, and
Dartmouth pursued Jamie. Despite many trophies and awards, Jamie remains
humble, kind, compassionate, and a true team player. Jamie's tireless work ethic, both on and off the
field, commitment, perserverance, and determination are what allowed his dream to come true.
