Stop & Shop Opens New Woodmere Store

WOODMERE, NY — Stop & Shop today opened its doors in Woodmere, marking the brand’s first new location on Long Island since its Rocky Point store opened in 2017. Located at 253-01 Rockaway Blvd., the store is replacing the Inwood store, which was just 1.7 miles away and closed on Oct. 29.

The new Woodmere store features the largest Kosher assortment available at any Stop & Shop store. The store also has curbside pickup for orders placed online. The Kosher food section includes fresh fish, meat and baked goods, including challah and babka. It also has fresh Kosher fruit and vegetables.

“Stop & Shop has been proud to serve the Five Towns community for 20 years,” said Bob Yager, senior vice president of operations strategy and support for Stop & Shop. “We are even more proud to be providing residents with a new store, complete with new services and products that will better serve this diverse and wonderful community.”

To commemorate the opening, Stop & Shop Woodmere donated $1,000 and $500 in Nature’s Promise products to the Gural JCC in Cedarhurst.

Woodmere is the first of several Nassau County store remodels that will mirror the company’s investment in 21 stores in Suffolk County last year. Later this year, Stop & Shop will unveil refreshed stores in Glen Cove, West Babylon, Huntington and Port Washington. Several more will follow in 2021.
