Valley Stream Man Competing on 'Survivor'

Marketing director says he will be "just fine" on this season of the reality show.

A Long Island man is battling the elements on this season’s “Survivor” reality competition.

Joaquin Souberbielle, 27, of Valley Stream, survived the first elimination in the premiere of the show’s 30th season, “Survivor: Worlds Apart.”

Souberbielle was placed into the White Collar tribe, Masaya, which comprises people who are “used to making decisions and leading others,” according to Reality TV World.

Souberbielle, who survived the first elimination Wednesday night, said he has a “relentless will to win at any cost.”

I’ve always managed to find a way to survive in every situation life has thrown at me,” he said, according to his profile from CBS. “I’m sure I’ll be just fine.”

Souberbielle is a marketing director who enjoys traveling, sports and fitness, which he says will keep him at the top of the competition.

“I’ll be the sole survivor because I have all the attributes it takes to win this game. I’m smart, social and unbelievably athletic.”

“Survivor: Worlds Apart” airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
