3 Men In Queens Struck By Lightning During Storms, Police Say
Two men were struck while playing soccer in Flushing Meadows Park and another was hit later in Jamaica, authorities said.

QUEENS, NY -- Lightning struck at least three men in Queens - leaving one in critical condition - as a brief but powerful storm touched down in New York City on Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Two men, ages 30 and 42, were playing soccer in Flushing Meadows Park at about 7:30 p.m. when they were struck, police told Patch.
Both men were rushed to Elmhurst Hospital. The 30-year-old was later transferred to another hospital in critical condition for burns.

Another man was hit by lightning less than an hour later near Baisley Boulevard and 155th Street in South Jamaica, police said. The 33-year-old man was rushed to Jamaica hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
