Drunk Man Booted Off LaGuardia Flight Tries To Fight Cops: Police

The 6-foot-3 Brooklyn man tried to fight cops at the airport after he was deemed too drunk to board his Southwest flight, police say.

FLUSHING, QUEENS -- A Brooklyn man who calls himself "The Charmer from California" on social media was arrested for being anything but that when he tried to fight police officers Tuesday evening after being kicked off his flight at LaGuardia Airport for being too drunk.

Delonte Hoskins, 37, was about to board a Southwest flight at Terminal B of the airport at around 7 p.m. when a flight attendant suspected he'd had too much to drink and stopped him from getting on the plane, police said.

After Hoskins was denied entry on the plane, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound man began cursing at the flight attendant and making "obscene gestures" at the Port Authority officers who arrived at the gate to calm him down, said Port Authority Police Spokesman Joseph Pentangelo.

Hoskins allegedly began fighting police officers who tried to steer him away from the boarding area and flailing his arms to keep from being handcuffed, Pentangelo said.

Cops eventually tackled Hoskins to the ground and cuffed him, sending him off to Elmhurst Hospital to sober up and undergo a behavioral evaluation. He was charged with resisting arrests, disorderly conduct and trespassing, Pentangelo said.
