Fight Starts Outside Francis Lewis HS, Students Dismissed: NYPD
Students at Francis Lewis High School in Fresh Meadows are being dismissed after a large fight started in front of the school, police said.

FRESH MEADOWS, QUEENS — Students at Francis Lewis High School were made to shelter in place Friday morning after a large fight broke out in front of the school, according to police.
The brawl started about 10:45 a.m. and lasted for over an hour, a police spokesperson said.
Students at the Fresh Meadows school are being dismissed, the NYPD's 111th Precinct said in a social media post about 12:30 p.m.

"Francis Lewis High School was temporarily placed on a shelter-in due to an off-site incident in the area," NYC Department of Education spokesperson Miranda Barbot said in a statement.
"We are working closely with the NYPD to ensure a safe dismissal while they conduct an investigation.”

There was a shelter-in-place because of a fight outside of the school. The shelter-in-place is over and the kids are being dismissed.
