Flushing Prepares to Celebrate the Year of the Dog!
Flushing's Annual Lunar New Year Parade Falls on February 17,2018.

Lunar New Year is one of the biggest festive celebrations in Flushing. It is not to be missed! The neighborhood's Lunar New Year Parade is a huge draw every year, with diverse, multicultural groups coming together to march and participate in this auspicious occasion. Visitors can expect vibrant costumes, floats, joyful dancing and traditional celebrations. Thousands of people flock the streets to celebrate together and usher in spring.

This year, the parade will start at 11 am, and will last an hour. Kickoff the festivities with a warm-up reception with refreshments at the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce (13532 38th Avenue, Flushing) from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, February 17,2018, and then head off to the parade site at Union Street and 37th Avenue. Be sure to dress warmly and in layers! Afterwards, enjoy the diverse culture and amazing food in the Flushing community.

The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce is part of a community coalition that plans and organizes the Lunar New Year Parade every year. The coalition is led by the Flushing Chinese Business Association (FCBA) and the Korean American Association of Queens (KAAQ).
