Flushing Prepares for Small Business Saturday on November 25 & Historic Holiday House Tour on December 10, 2017

Flushing, NY -- The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce hosted today a Shop Small Welcome Station at Maple Greenmarket (Kissena Blvd and Maple Ave). Hundreds of business owners and community members stopped by the Welcome Station to pick up free Shop Small tote bags exclusively designed by fashion retailer, Opening Ceremony. The Chamber also gave out free promotional tools and merchandise to business owners interested in participating in the Shop Small campaign.
"Flushing, Queens is a shopper's delight, especially with the holiday season fast approaching," said John Choe, executive director of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce. "Come support our local economy and celebrate the cultural diversity showcased by our community's unique business community during Small Business Saturday on November 25."

The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce is joining the national effort on Saturday, November 25, to encourage consumers to support local businesses. As part of this effort, the Chamber gave out promotional materials and tools for local businesses who want to participate in celebrating Flushing's unique community. This countrywide campaign led by American Express has created an annual shopping tradition encouraging people across the country to support small, local businesses.
Visitors can show their support for small businesses and make a positive impact in the community by taking part in Small Business Saturday.

In addition to shopping, visitors can plan their visit for the holiday season. Celebrate the season with seven Queens historic sites and learn about their unique histories on Sunday, December 10. Each historic house offers tours, activities, crafts, seasonal displays and decorations. Visitors can enjoy musical performances, snacks, and refreshments while touring different historic houses.
