A Fresh Meadows man was charged with murder for a double stabbing that left his wife dead and their daughter seriously injured.
FRESH MEADOWS, QUEENS — A Fresh Meadows man was charged with murder for a double stabbing that left his wife dead and their daughter seriously injured, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Prosecutors say Jawad Hussain, 57, attacked his wife with two knives the afternoon of Jan. 15, 2019, at their 69th Avenue home.
When their daughter tried to intervene, he slashed her hands and wrists, according to the charges.

Both women were rushed to a nearby hospital, where his wife, Fatima Jawad, died at the age of 44. Jawad is survived by two other daughters and a son.
Hussain now faces murder, assault and weapon charges. If convicted, he faces up to 50 years to life in prison.
