FLUSHING, QUEENS — A luxury hotel is coming to Flushing as part of a massive new residential and retail complex replacing the bygone Flushing Mall.
A four-star Renaissance Hotel will open in downtown Flushing in 2020, developers announced. The nine-story, luxury lodging will have 208 hotel rooms.
The Renaissance New York Flushing Hotel at Tangram will offer panoramic views of Flushing Bay and the Manhattan skyline from a top-floor lobby, a 3,500-square-foot outdoor terrace, a 60-foot indoor pool and a fitness center with saunas, steam showers and a salt room. The hotel design is by Margulies Hoelzli Architecture, with interiors by Wilson Associates.

The Marriott-owned hotel, located at 133-15 39th Ave., will connect directly to the rest of Tangram, the giant mixed-use development slated to open at the end of 2019.
Tangram, named for the traditional Chinese puzzle, will feature a 24,000-square-foot food hall and beer garden, movie theaters, restaurants and retail stores. Tangram also includes two residential towers with 324 luxury apartments, plus a 12-story commercial tower with 48 offices.
