FLUSHING, QUEENS — A man broke into a Flushing home early Sunday and attempted to sexually assault a woman who lives there, according to prosecutors.

Flushing resident Solomon Hudgins, 27, was arraigned Monday on charges of burglary, attempted rape, assault, sexual abuse and other crimes for the Aug. 4 break-in.

Prosecutors say Hudgins tore the screen off the women's bathroom window, climbed into their apartment and tried to force himself on one of them.

As the woman, 64, fought him off, her 94-year-old mother tried calling 911. Hudgins took the mother's phone and hit her hand, then ran out of the apartment, prosecutors said.

Police officers from the 109th Precinct caught the man as he fled.
