Nearly 200 Pounds Of Marijuana Seized In Flushing Drug Bust: NYPD

Cops arrested six people after $19,000 and 19 bags of ketamine were also found during the raid.

FLUSHING, QUEENS -- Nearly 200 pounds of marijuana was recovered during a drug bust in Flushing on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Two plain-clothed officers were patrolling 58th Avenue near 148th Street at around 2:20 p.m. when they noticed three men exchanging bundles of cash and vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, cops said.

When the officers approached the men and identified themselves, the trio attempted to flee to a nearby house but were quickly arrested there, police said.

Cops then searched the home and recovered 195 pounds of marijuana - worth an estimated $500,000 - along with 19 bags of Ketamine and $19,000 in cash.

A total of six people, ages 23-37, were arrested in the drug bust. Each faces charges of criminal possession of marijuana, criminal sale of marijuana, criminal possession of controlled substance, criminal possession of forgery device, forgery and possession of forged instruments.
