Phony Cops Nab $20K In Plastic Bag From Man In Flushing: NYPD

Two men claiming to be police officers made off with a plastic bag full of $20,000 in Flushing early Halloween morning, the NYPD says.

FLUSHING, QUEENS — Two men claiming to be police officers made off with a plastic bag full of $20,000 in Flushing early Halloween morning, the NYPD said.

The men, one wielding a baseball bat, confronted a 31-year-old man on Kissena Boulevard near Juniper Avenue about 1 a.m., said they were police and told him to put his hands up, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

One of the men grabbed a black bag stuffed with cash, then the victim asked to see their police badges, the spokesperson said.

Instead, the phony cops got into a white car and raced away.
