Queens Cops Crack Down On Northern Boulevard Drivers: Report
Police went on a two-week ticket blitz at Northern and Parsons Boulevards in Flushing, the New York Daily News reported.

FLUSHING, QUEENS — Police went on a ticketing spree this month on Northern Blvd., one of the most dangerous streets in Queens.
The NYPD crackdown centered on the intersection of Northern and Parsons Blvds. in Flushing, the New York Daily News reported. From March 4 to March 17, officers handed drivers 3,300 parking summonses, 2,400 moving violations and 660 criminal summonses, according to the Daily News. Police reportedly towed more than 300 illegally parked cars.
Drivers have killed 14 people on Northern Blvd. since 2016. Last year, seven pedestrians were in crashes at Northern and Parsons Blvds., the Daily News reported.

Transportation activists are rebranding Northern Blvd. as the borough's new "Boulevard of Death" — a nickname for Queens Blvd., which officials have made safer — to draw attention to the dangers of the 4.3-mile stretch.
Advocates expect the NYC Department of Transportation to soon introduce redesign plans for parts of Northern Blvd.
