Queens Lunar New Year Parade 2020: Time, Route, Street Closures

Here's what you need to know about the Lunar New Year Parade in Flushing on Saturday.

FLUSHING, QUEENS — Queens is ringing in the start of the Year of the Rat with the annual Flushing Lunar New Year parade this Saturday.

The parade starts at 11 a.m. at Union Street and 37th Avenue. The route typically travels down Union, turns right onto Sanford Avenue then turns right onto Main Street.

Before the parade, the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce will kick off the festivities with a free reception at St. George's Church, featuring performances by local groups, coffee and refreshments, a raffle and a prize giveaway.

The best spot to watch the parade is in front of the Queens Library on Main Street, according to John Choe, the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce's executive director.
