Subway Train Hits Man At Willets Point Station, Officials Say

The incident briefly forced 7 trains to run express Wednesday afternoon.

FLUSHING, NY — A subway train struck a man at the Willets Point station Wednesday afternoon, officials said. The man was hit around 2:30 p.m. and taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, the NYPD said.

Police are still investigating how the man got onto the tracks, but it appears he may have jumped, an NYPD spokesman said.

The incident briefly forced Flushing-bound 7 trains to run express, New York City Transit said on Twitter. Normal service had resumed as of 2:37 p.m., the agency said.
