Thieves Beat Up 18-Year-Old For His Shoes In Flushing, Police Say

The trio kicked and punched the 18-year-old before fleeing with one of his shoes, police say.

FLUSHING, QUEENS -- Cops are searching for three teens who beat up an 18-year-old for his shoes in Flushing.

The trio approached the teen at around 7 p.m. on March 8 behind iCook, a Korean barbecue restaurant on 41 Avenue in Flushing. When he attempted to run away, the three stopped him and began kicking and punching him repeatedly, police said.

The three then stole one of the 18-year-old's shoes and fled down 41 Avenue toward College Point Boulevard, cops said. The teen suffered bruising and swelling from the beating but was not sent to a hospital.

The NYPD released video surveillance of the suspects, who cops estimated were each between 16 and 19 years old.
