Chabad Of Rego Park To Help Jewish Community Prep For Passover
The Chabad of Rego Park's Passover tradition of delivering matzah to those in need takes on new meaning amid concerns over COVID-19.
REGO PARK, QUEENS — The Chabad of Rego Park's annual Passover tradition of delivering shmurah matzah to those in need has taken on new meaning amid concerns over the spread of the new coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19.
The Chabad is rallying volunteers to deliver shmurah matzah and items for the Passover Seder to homebound seniors, low-income families and anyone quarantined or in isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Rabbi Eli Blokh.
The shmurah matzah boxes are shrink-wrapped and will be distributed in cloth shopping bags to allow for contactless delivery.
