Driver Killed In Kew Gardens Hills Crash, 1 In Custody: Police

A 22-year-old man was taken into custody after the crash in Queens early Friday, police said. Charges are pending.

KEW GARDENS HILLS, QUEENS — One person is in custody after a driver was killed in a two-car collision in Queens on Friday morning, according to police.

Daniel Crawford was behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry about 4:30 a.m. in Kew Gardens Hills when he collided with a man driving a Mercedes at Union Turnpike and Parsons Boulevard, a police spokesperson said.

Crawford, a 52-year-old man from Bloomfield, New Jersey, was rushed to Queens Hospital Center, where he died.

The 22-year-old Mercedes driver was taken into custody.

Charges were still pending as of 9:30 a.m. Friday, the NYPD spokesperson said.
