Elderly Rego Park Woman Killed In Car Crash: Police

The 75-year-old woman was crossing the street Tuesday morning in Middle Village when a driver slammed into her, police said.

MIDDLE VILLAGE, QUEENS — An elderly woman from Rego Park was killed Tuesday after a driver slammed into her while she was crossing the street in Middle Village that morning, according to police.

Eugenia Atamian, 75, was walking across Juniper Boulevard between 81st and 82nd Street about 6:30 a.m. when the driver struck her, a police spokesperson said.

Emergency medics rushed her to LIJ Forest Hills hospital with serious head trauma, but she could not be saved.

The driver, a 42-year-old man, was behind the wheel of a 2004 Chrysler sedan, police said.

The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad had not filed any charges or issued any summonses to the driver as of late afternoon Tuesday.
