Forest Hills Among Most Expensive Queens Neighborhoods For 2021
The PropertyNest analysis ranked the five most expensive and five most affordable spots in the borough.
FOREST HILLS, NY — Renters looking to move to Forest Hills this year will need to make a chunk of change to call the neighborhood home.
Forest Hills has been ranked by PropertyNest as the third-most expensive neighborhood in Queens going into 2021, with the average income needed to rent in the neighborhood teetering toward six figures.
Renters in Forest Hills had a median monthly income of $2,220 for a one-bedroom apartment and $2,550 for a two-bedroom spot. That means the average income needed to live in the neighborhood stands at $88,800 for those looking for a one-bedroom and $102,000 for two bedrooms, according to the study, which looked at rental data for the full calendar year in 2020.

The averages are not far behind the Long Island City and Astoria, which were awarded the first and second spot on the most-expensive list, respectively.
But even in the most affordable neighborhood in the borough, Murray Hill, renters make an average salary of more than $73,800.
