FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Members of the City Council wield enormous power over what happens in New York City, and Patch wants to hear from Forest Hills residents about what issues matter to them in this year's elections.

For the first time in years, the neighborhood has an open seat: Term limits mean Karen Koslowitz cannot run again in District 29. A dozen candidates are running to replace her.

Whoever wins will be able to influence new development, vote on new laws and serve as an advocate for residents of Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens and Richmond Hill.
