On Thursday morning the Forest Hills Fishery owner returned to his store to discover a broken back window, and $2,500 in cash missing.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Something fishy happened at Forest Hills Fishery on Thursday morning: When the business owner returned to the shop around 8:00 a.m. he discovered that the back window was broken, and $2,500 was missing, according to the NYPD.
The police said that the owner closed his fish shop on 7164 Austin Street around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and discovered the burglary when he returned in the morning on Thursday.
An unknown individual broke into the shop through the back window, cutting a metal bar to gain entry, and once inside stole money, the cops said.

This incident comes after a series of burglaries around the city in March and April — including four in northern Queens — where groups of people broke windows and doors, primarily at pharmacies, in order to steal cash and pills.
A person working at Forest Hills Fishery — which has been operating in the neighborhood for over 50 years, according to their website — confirmed to Patch on Thursday that the robbery occurred, but was unable to give more details.
